This Privacy Policy explains how TruCult (“TruCult”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the TruCult mobile app and website (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
- Account information. Your email address and, if you set them, your username, display name, bio, profile photo, country, and interests.
- Content you create. Posts, messages (in channels and direct messages), images, voice notes, trade records (TruTrack), and reports you file.
- Community & membership data. The cults and channels you join or create, and your follow/membership relationships.
- Payment data. When you purchase paid access, payments are processed by our payment providers (e.g. Stripe, Razorpay). We receive transaction status and identifiers; we do not store full card numbers.
- Device & usage data. Basic technical data needed to operate the app, including device identifiers for push notifications and diagnostic logs.
How we use information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To deliver messages, notifications, and content you have access to.
- To process payments and grant paid access.
- To review reports and enforce our Terms, including moderation of content and users.
- To comply with legal obligations.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:
- With other users, to the extent you choose to make content public or send it to channels, cults, or direct messages.
- With service providers that operate the Service on our behalf, including Supabase (database, authentication, storage) and our payment providers.
- For legal reasons, when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the Service.
Your choices and rights
- Account deletion. You can permanently delete your account at any time from the app under Settings → Delete account, or by following our account deletion instructions. This deletes your account and cults you own.
- Blocking. You can block other users from their profile or a chat; a blocked user cannot message you or see your conversations.
- Notifications. You can disable push notifications in the app or your device settings.
- Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or export your data. Contact us to exercise them.
Data retention
We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account we remove or anonymize your personal data, except where we must retain limited records to comply with legal, tax, or accounting obligations. Direct-message media is automatically purged on a rolling basis.
Children
The Service is not directed to anyone under 18 (or the minimum age required in your country, if higher), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the “Last updated” date above.
